Goals and objectives of the position:

  • Administrative support services to Board and Departments provided;
  • Initiation and formulation of institution policies and laws done;
  • Human Resource Management services supervised and coordinated;
  • Resources of the institution efficiently utilized and accounted for;
  • Support to the Chief Executive Officer provided in Administering the Company;
  • Support and guidance to the Departments provided;
  • Safe custody and maintenance of the company’s properties and assets ensured;
  • Cooporate governance of the company ensured;

Key duties and responsbilities:

Reporing to the BoD, the MD will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure that the company is a good example of excellence in coorporate governance in the relevant sector;
  • Assists the CEO and coordinates other top management team members in handling strategic and operational issues;
  • Ensures that the company is at all times financially sound and able to manage its income and expenditures and assets and liabilities in accordance with Board directives;
  • Provide daily direction and leadership and provids administrative support services to all the   Departments
  • To coordinate the elaboration of budgets and work plans for the company
  • Initiating and formulating policies, plans, strategies in liaison with other Heads of Departments;
  • Supervising and coordinating proper management of the human resource issues;
  • Managing and providing efficient utilization and accountability of all resources of the institution;
  • Supervising the upkeep and providing the safe custody of the company properties /assets.
  • Supervise preparation of financial statements and reports;
  • Answering audit queries and mandatory inquiries whenever necessary;
  • Coordinate; Planning, supervising and assessing the performance of staff;
  • Reviewing and identifying alternative sources of revenue generation;
  • Enforcing adherence to financial policy, regulations and professional practices in all financial transactions.
  • Provide daily, weekly monthly and annual reports on various activities to the CEO
  • Provide timely reports to the board and generally ensure that the company activities are implemented according to set goals and objectives;
  • Preparing and transmitting to the Board of Directors the draft of the Budget of the following year and the Budget report of the previous year;
  • Executing the budget and managing its resources;
  • Informing in writing, the Board of Directors the performance of activities;
  • Summarizing documents to be examined by the Board of Directors;
  • Implementing decisions of the Board of Directors;
  • Guiding, supervising, monitoring and coordinating staff and activities in the application of the relevant laws and policies;
  • Promoting accountability and transparency in the management and delivery services and adherence to existing Financial Regulations and Guidelines;
  • Promoting proper development, review and management Plans and strategies;
  • Participate in promoting and enhancing collaboration linkages between the copany, Government and other stake holders for effective implementation and achievement of company objectives;
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO

Minimum requirements:

  • Baclelors’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration and Economics
  • Master’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration and Economics is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in related field 4 of which should have been at senior position in manaufacturing sector
